Moving
My mother-in-law decided to retire. It's not entirely good news--she only decided it was time to go when her hours as a social worker in a state-funded program were cut again, again, and again. Yay for lack of funding for important social programs!--but it is good news for my husband and I. So, she went off to Mexico and we high-tailed it back to the city.
The cats have to stay indoors because this is the middle of the city, but I think they rather enjoy lording over the new neighborhood from five stories up.

Fast forward through three hellish weeks of moving, and I finally get to spend the morning sitting on the couch sipping my coffee and watching the cats. (They have now switched places. Now Penny is on the pillow and Zipper has been banished to the couch. There are, of course, two pillows by the window but, being cats, they would rather fight than share.)
I also get to start taking testosterone. I gave my first shot on Wednesday, which was both exciting and terrifying. I had horrible acne the first time through puberty which just cleared up about a year ago. And now I already have a new zit forming on my chin and I'm like "noooooo."
Overall, though, I am very excited. I feel like my life has been on hold for a long time and things are finally starting to move again.
